How every tier is protected
Regardless of which deployment you choose — even if you run our software entirely on your own servers — every GeoLog device checks in with our licence server at regular intervals. This means your subscription is always enforced and your team always runs a validated, up-to-date version of the software. Your data backend and our licence system are independent by design.
Tier 1 & 2
ORC hosts both your data and the licence server.
Tier 3
You host your data. ORC still controls the licence tap.
Tier 4
No internet needed. Licence is a signed annual bundle — verified offline against our embedded key.
Common questions
Do I need to share my source code or hand over our geological data to switch tiers?
No. Your geological data stays in your control at all times. When you move to a higher tier, ORC migrates or assists — nothing leaves your hands without your action. Source code is never shared at any tier; we deliver compiled, signed software only.
What happens if I stop paying?
Each device renews its licence automatically every few days. If your subscription lapses, renewals stop and devices lock themselves within the grace period. Your data remains intact — it is your data — but the software will not run until the subscription is reinstated.
Can we trial the software before committing to a tier?
Yes. We offer short-term evaluation licences (hours to days) for teams that want to assess GeoLog Pro on a real drill programme before choosing a deployment model. Contact us to arrange a trial.
We operate in a jurisdiction with strict data residency rules. Which tier fits?
Tier 3 (On-Premise) gives you complete control over where data is stored — your own server in your jurisdiction. Tier 4 additionally removes any internet dependency for air-gapped or classified environments.
Does the mobile app (Android) work on all tiers?
Yes. The Android APK is included on every tier. It syncs with whichever backend your account is connected to and falls back to local-only mode when offline.
